Cookies For a Cause
Cookies For a Cause raises money for the veterans living in St. John Specialty Care Center, located on 500 Wittenberg Way in Mars. Over the course of 5 years, we, alongside Mars Area High School Students, have raised over $7,000 selling cookies at the Mars Farmer's Market every Saturday throughout the summer months. 100% of the proceeds were donated to St. John veterans. On behalf of Mars community, we wish to wholeheartedly thank these veterans for their service.

Our Inspiration
We have always respected those who served our country, but after reading the book “Unbroken”, we realized the true extent of our soldiers’ sacrifices. “Unbroken” was about WWII veteran Louis Zamperini, who was a POW of the Japanese. The horrific experiences he encountered were heartbreaking, and made us realize the real human cost of the freedoms we enjoy today. We live with gratitude, and want to give back to those who kept my family and our country safe. We are Jenna and John Sutton, and our goal is to raise money and spread gratitude for local veterans.

"The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here."
Abraham Lincoln
