Jenna and John Sutton have run Cookies for a Cause for four summers, collaborating with Mars student council and other high schoolers along the way.

Jenna graduated from Mars high school in 2020, and is now attending the University of Pittsburgh, studying civil engineering. This upcoming summer, she is a full time engineering intern with HDR in downtown Pittsburgh. John is a senior at Mars high school and plans pursue a mechanical engineering degree once he graduates.

In addition to the fundraiser stand at the Mars Farmer's Market, John and Jenna have a personal stand selling bread and honey. European style breads, like French baguette are sold at the stand, as well as savory breads such as pepperoni rolls. The honey is from their own apiary, located less than a mile away from the farmer's market.

Hopefully, we can spread recognition for the veterans in the town of Mars, and involve our generation with the greatest generation, acknowledging and appreciating their sacrifices. Oftentimes, it feels as if veterans, especially those in nursing homes, are forgotten, but we want them to know that they are remembered and that young people are actively trying to help them.
